QUETTA, Oct 18: The executive committee of the Academic Staff Association of the Balochistan University has decided to challenge the appointment of a retired military officer as vice-chancellor.

The committee, which met here on Wednesday, rejected new regulation which required all faculty members to sign attendance register twice a day. It said that the new rule would also be challenged in court.

The committee urged the authorities to replace the university’s registrar and the VC’s personnel staff officer as they were both creating misunderstanding between the staff and the vice-chancellor, adding that they had both been working on these posts for the past five years. —Correspondent
