KASUR, Oct 17: A woman was allegedly kidnapped and her old mother tortured by accused for not withdrawing her husband’s murder case registered against them on Tuesday at Jamatpura.

Bushra Bibi, the mother of Asia Bibi, told B-Division police that Asia was married to one Maqsood Ahmed. A few months later, Yameen, along with his accomplices, shot dead Maqsood over a trifle. Asia got murder case registered with Kasur police. After Maqsood’s death, she was married to his younger brother.

The accused reportedly continued to pressurize Asia to withdraw the case and to reconcile with the alleged murderers. On her refusal, Yameen and his accomplices abducted Asia and detained her at their outhouse. When Asia’s mother came at the outhouse seeking release of her daughter and to settle the dispute, Yameen allegedly tortured her.

The police registered a case on the complaint of Bushra Bibi, arresting three of the accused.

GUJRANWALA: The proclaimed offenders who kidnapped an industrialist for ransom on Tuesday threatened the complainant that he and the members of his family would be killed for pursuing the case.
