KARACHI, Oct 17: A high-level meeting here on Tuesday discussed the issue of introducing a unified examination system in the entire province and to raise examination standard.

The meeting was held at the Governor's House here with Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan in the chair.

Sindh Education Minister Dr Hamida Khuhro, Education Secretary Sabhago Khan Jatoi, Special Secrtary Javed Hanif, chairmen of all education boards of the province and other senior officials attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed the issue of bringing uniformity in education standard in the entire province and to link the examination system of all educational boards to a unified system.

The governor said that before implementing new decisions in annual examination, the boards should try and test them through mock exams.

He said that in this way both students and teachers could be made well aware of the new system and complications during actual exams could be avoided.

The meeting was briefed about the performance of the Sindh Textbook Board and issue of ghost schools in the province. Dr Ibad directed that the Sindh Textbook Board should be revamped and ghost schools be made functional.—PPI
