KARACHI, Oct 17: The owner of a cellphone shop was shot dead by suspects in Korangi on late Monday night. Police said Syed Adnan Husain, 26, was in his shop in Korangi 2-1/2.

At least three suspects barged into his shop and shot at him before fleeing.

TPO of Korangi Sohail Zafar Chatta said the bandits didn’t take away any valuables from the shop.

He said that some six months back the victim, Adnan, had apprehended some bandits who had come to loot his shop.

Subsequently they were sent to jail, and “we believe that Adnan was targeted by the same group who might have been released from jail,” the TPO added.

“We are investigating the case and tracing the whereabouts of the convicted bandits,” ASP Chatta further added. The deceased had a four-month-old baby girl.

SHOT DEAD: A young man was shot dead by unknown persons in Lyari on Tuesday morning.

Police said Noor Bukhsh, 28, was sitting at an oil depot in the limits of the Kalakot police station when unknown persons on a motorcycle came and shot at him before fleeing. The victim was rushed to the Civil Hospital, where he died in the evening.

Police suspected personal enmity as a possible motive for the killing.

ARRESTED: Police on Tuesday arrested seven suspects, including a foreigner, in Korangi and seized seven illegal pistols from their possession, adds PPI.

Police said Mehar Rind alias Mirpur Khaswala, Akbar Bhatti Ghotkiwala, Ghulam Ahmed, Asif Baloch and Tayab Baloch were arrested in three separate raids and six TT pistols were seized from them.

In the fourth raid, a foreigner, Saleh Burmi, was arrested with an illegal TT.
