Khairpur DPO Javed Jiskani confirmed to Dawn on phone that Ms Seema was in police custody and they had informed her parents about her recovery. She would be produced in the court on Tuesday, he said.

Ms Seema’s father, Abdul Majeed Shar, had alleged in an FIR registered on September 19 at Faiz Ganj police that Nazim Jogi had kidnapped her daughter.

The girl was brought to DPO office where she recorded her statement.

A police team headed by three TPOs of Khairpur had participated in the raid.

KILLED: A man was killed and his brother sustained injuries in an armed attack in Jalal Mangnejo village in the limits of Gulu Siyal police station on Monday.

Reports reaching here said that Zahid Mangnejo and Rafique Mangnejo came under attack from some unidentified people while they were working in their fields. Zahid died on the spot while his brother suffered serious wounds.

The attack was an offshoot of a running dispute between two groups of Mangnejo community, reports said.
