Two killed as rivals clash

GUJRAT, Oct 15: Two men were killed while as many passers-by sustained serious injuries in an exchange of fire between two groups over a litigation row in Nandowal village of Lalamusa on Saturday evening.

Reports said supporters of Ahmad Khan and Ghulam Mohammad groups traded fire, killing Sajid Ahmad of the former group and Zafar Iqbal of the latter. Two passers-by Waqas (12) and Kaleem (14) received critical bullet injuries and were admitted to hospital.

Lalamusa Saddar police have registered a case against men of both the groups with no arrests.

ROBBERIES: Three dacoits made off with Rs3,000 in cash and two mobile phones from Naeem and Nazim near Bhanowali Bhimber nullah in Lalamusa.

Meanwhile, thieves took away motorcycle (GTJ-3674) of Farid from outside his house in Purana Lalamusa.
