SSGC storm in to last eight

KARACHI, Oct 12: Defending champions Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) stormed into the quarter-finals of the 21st Karachi Gymkhana-AKD Twenty20 Ramazan cricket tournament when they defeated Muhammad Hussain Cricket Club (MHCC) by four wickets at KG Ground on Thursday.

MHCC, batting first were all out for 134 in the final over of their innings with Qaiser Abbas contributing 38 off 26 balls.

Slow left-armer Abdul Qadir bowled well to claim three for 14 while speedster Rajesh Ramesh also took three wickets.

SSGC, in reply, achieved victory with eight balls to spare.

Opener Asif Zakir blasted seven boundaries in striking 55 off 39 balls. He was later adjudged Man-of-the-Match.

Slow left-armer Rashid Hanif took two for 27.
