KARACHI, Oct 10: Naib Nazim Nasreen Jalil has said it is need of the hour to change old mindset and realize the importance of information technology.

Talking to a delegation led by EDO IT Mumtzaul Haq that called on her at her office on Tuesday, she said strengthening the IT services and software exports was needed for development. She said that the country could be made invincible and economically independent with development of information technology.

The delegation told her that IT infrastructure at central office of city government had been made functional. They informed that Gulshan-i-Iqbal Town, Karachi Building Control Authority, Karachi Water and Sewerage Board and office of ADO Revenue had also been connected with IT infrastructure located at the Civic Centre. Towns and UCs would soon be connected through this infrastructure, they added.

“After computerization of the entire system of land and revenue department, irregularities would be eliminated”, they said.
