QUETTA, Oct 9: A two-member bench of the Balochistan High Court (BHC) here on Monday ordered a committee to submit a report about shifting of a bus-stand to Hazar Ganji.

The order came when Hadi Shakeel appearing on behalf of the DCO Quetta and Chairman District Regional Transport Authority stated that a committee has been constituted comprising of Balochistan Ministers for Local Government and Transport and MPA Shafiq Ahmed Khan to consider the shifting of the bus stand to Hazar Ganji.

The bench comprising of Chief Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai and Mr Justice Akhtar Zaman Malghani issued the order while hearing a petition filed by the owner of Al-Yousaf Coach Company on August 3 last submitting that he applied for approval of construction of D-Class terminal on Sariab Road, but the DCO Quetta rejected his application on July 31.

The petitioner stated that he fulfilled the requirements under Motor Vehicle Rules 1969. He prayed to order the authorities concerned to accept his application for constructing a D-Class bus terminal in Quetta.

The court adjourned hearing of the case till October 26.—APP
