TAXILA, Oct 9: Four persons including two brothers were shot dead over a marriage dispute in the jurisdiction of Wah Cantt police late on Sunday night.

The police said Nafees Khan and his brother Munir Khan were called out from their home by their friends Atif Abbas and Tahir at 11pm to settle a marriage dispute between Atif and another man, Zeeshan.

When they were on their way to meet Zeeshan, four persons coming from the opposite direction stopped their car near Bhattar interchange and opened fire on them, killing all of them on the spot.

Police shifted the bodies to the tehsil headquarters hospital for autopsy. District Police Officer Saud Aziz also reached at the crime scene and ordered a general holdup in a bid to trace the culprits, but no arrest was made.

The police on the statement of Abdul Khaliq, a cousin of the deceased brothers, registered a case against Zeeshan and his three unidentified accomplices under section 302/34 CrPc.

The motive behind the killing was stated to be a dispute between Atif Abbas and Zeeshan over the marriage of the latter’s cousin.
