TOBA TEK SINGH, Oct 5: Four policemen of the Cuttiana police station were terminated from the service for showing negligence here on Friday.
Lashkar-i-Jhangvi activist Hafiz Qari Muhammad Anwar was arrested a few weeks ago, but he managed to escape due to the negligence of policemen. The SP ordered an inquiry which found head-constable Saeed Ahmad, muharrer Muhammad Arshad, constables Abdul Hameed and Khalid Mahmood guilty of charges.
SUMMONED: The district Nazim on Friday was asked to summon a former district engineering to appear before the district council’s inquiry committee.
District council members had levelled serious corruption charges against former district engineer Zaheer Ahmad. They demanded that the former engineer should be asked to get completed all those development schemes of which he had already taken the required funds.
