School guard injures two youths

GUJRANWALA, Oct 7: Two youths were shot at and injured by the guard of a private girls school for standing in front of institution’s main gate here on Saturday.

Reports said that the guard forbade Bilal and Farhan from standing outside the school, but the youths started abusing him. The guard fell into a rage and opened fire on youths. They sustained bullet wounds.

Robberies: Armed bandits looted two houses and also took away two cars and as many motorcycles in six different strikes in and around the city on Saturday.

Around half a dozen outlaws entered the house of Muhammad Niaz by scaling its boundary wall in Naushera Virkan. The intruders held hostage the inmates at gunpoint, collected Rs50,000 in cash, jewellery, two mobile phones and other valuables and escaped.

Later, the bandits entered an adjacent house of Arshad Iqbal, made the family hostage and locked them in a room. They escaped after scooping Rs75,000 in cash, 20 tolas of gold and dowry of two daughters and escaped.

Five armed robbers intercepted a car (STT-5154) on GT Road near Aimanabad. They also snatched Rs600,000 in cash and three mobile phones from Sarwar, Ziaullah and Iftikhar Ahmad and also drove away their car.
