KINGSTON (Jamaica), Oct 3: Recalled fast bowler Daren Powell believes it will be a tough task to bowl on Pakistan's tracks during West Indies' cricket tour next month.

“It's definitely not going to be easy playing in Pakistan. It's hot and the wickets there are tough,'' Powell said on Tuesday.

West Indies will play three Tests during the tour, trying to become the second Caribbean side after Clive Lloyd's 1980-81 tourists to win a Test series in Pakistan.

Powell, 28, said persistent rain in his home parish of St Elizabeth in south Jamaica has limited his training but added he was looking forward to playing for West Indies again.

The last of his 17 Tests was in March against New Zealand.

He was not considered for the home series against India in the summer, but was selected for the Pakistan tour ahead of Pedro Collins and Ian Bradshaw.

The right-arm swing bowler has captured 43 wickets at an average of 40.83, with a best of five for 25 against Sri Lanka in 2005.—AP
