SHIKARPUR, Oct 3: A high-level meeting of the chieftains of several warring clans decided on Monday to stop hostilities immediately and announced that a ‘jirga’ would be held in a week to settle all disputes among clans running for years in the district.

The DPO of Shikarpur, Mazhar Nawaz Shaikh, presided over the meeting which was attended by Sardar Himmat Ali Khan Kamaryo, Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Jatoi, Sardar Sher Mohammad Khan Bijarani, Nisar Ali Khan Khoso, Burhan Khan Chandio, Sardar Ali Khan Chandio, Babal Khan Jakhrani, Haji Mehboob Khan alias Haji Kora Khan Bhayo and Babal Khan Bhayo.

Running feuds among Qambranis, Eesanis, Bakhranis, Marfanis, Brohis, Chandias, Shars, Mahars and Jatois have so far claimed hundreds of precious lives and deteriorated law and order situation in the district.
