KARACHI, Oct 2: Shah Faisal Town Nazim Mohammmed Imran has asked the water board to improve its performance in respect of water supply and sewerage and warned that no carelessness and negligence in the provision of public facilities would be tolerated.

Addressing an emergency meeting of KWSB employees in connection with immediate redressal of public complaints about water shortage on Monday, he asked water board employees to repair the leakages in waterlines and improve the sewerage system in Shah Faisal Town within one week.

In the meeting, the UC Nazims put up all the complaints received against ineffective performance of local staff of KWSB and said that water shortage and defective sewerage system had made the life of people miserable.

They said that waterlines be laid in clean alleys and wherever new lines were laid, supply of water should be started forthwith and immediate steps should be taken to ensure supply of contaminated water.

Town Nazim Mohammed Imran declared that only those employees of KWSB could remain in the town who would implement the steps taken by the town administration while inefficient ones would be sent back.

He asked KWSB authorities to sincerely enforce the timeframe for water supply in Shah Faisal Town and ensure equal distribution of water to all areas.

He said that timings for water supply to different areas be displayed outside pumping stations.

Mohammed Imran directed the mechanical staff to report all problems including defects in motors of water supply station to the town nazim secretariat in writing.

He made it clear that departmental action against KWSB staff would be taken on the report of UC nazims.

The meeting was also attended by Naib Nazim Ali Akbar, TMO Barkat Rizvi UC Nazims and SE water board.

GULSHAN TOWN: The Gulshan-i-Iqbal Town Council on Saturday passed a resolution to name the park constructed in UC-11 as Sardar Ali Sabri Park and another park in UC-9 as Jamshed Ansari Family Park.
