KARACHI: Appointments at FUUAST

Published October 3, 2006

KARACHI, Oct 2: The Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) has decided to bring an end to 'ad-hocism'. The decision to this effect was taken at the 9th meeting of the varsity syndicate.

A statement of the institution on Monday said that the meeting was chaired by the acting FUUAST vice-chancellor.

It said that the meeting also decided that the ad-hoc vacancies would be advertised within a month and the appointments would be made through the institution's selection Board.

The meeting also approved the nominations of the chairmen of the teaching departments, enhancement in medical allowance from Rs250 to Rs500.

It also recommended increase in remuneration of the teachers and staff working with the evening programme of the varsity. The syndicate also approved the degree of the university — the delay had prevented in conferment of degrees to students.—APP
