Girls’ school in bad shape

Published October 6, 2001

SADIQABAD, Oct 5: The Girls Primary School, Basti Karim Bux Bhaila, is a picture of neglect of the education department high-ups.

The school, constructed about 10 years ago at a cost of Rs1 million, is in dilapidated condition. Doors and windowpanes of classrooms are broken. Plaster on walls is coming off due to dampness. There are no teaching staff in the school. It is learnt that millions of rupees are being embezzled under the head of salaries as, on papers, the school has full strength of teachers.

Notables of the area have requested the education minister and the governor to look into the matter and take action against the people responsible for this sad state of affairs.

LIFE TERM: An additional sessions judge convicted a man while acquitted his four accomplices by giving them the benefit of the doubt in a murder case.

Afzal was sentenced to life imprisonment for killing one Ali Bux of mauza Qasmani three years ago.
