Four robberies in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA, Oct 1: Dacoits looted two houses and took away as many motorcycles in four strikes in and around the city here on Sunday.

Reports said about six outlaws forced their entry into the house of Muhammad Mateen in Salamtpura locality of Kamoki by scaling the boundary wall. They held hostage the inmates and made off with Rs75,000, 10-tola gold jewellery, two mobile phones and other valuables.

In another incident, three bandits stormed into the house of landlord Muhammad Akhter at Abdal village by scaling the boundary wall. They tied the family members with ropes and took away Rs40,000, 12-tola gold ornaments and other valuables.

Maqsood Ahmad of Ferozwala Road and Nabeel Ghafoor of People’s Colony were deprived of their motorcycles by unidentified robbers at gunpoint when they were on way home from market. Police are investigating.
