ISLAMABAD, Feb 13: Out of 230 police officers of the ranks from DIG to ASI, only 57 from all over the country could qualify the selection test for recruitment in the United Nations Mission, official sources said here on Wednesday.

Seven officials remained absent while seven others, who had already served with the UN Mission, had also been disqualified due to government ban on repeaters, the sources said.

According to reports, 52 candidates failed in reading test, 75 failed in listening test while 33 in report writing.

The failed police officers included a former SSP Islamabad, an SP (FIA) and two DSPs of Punjab police.

A four-member team, led by a French woman police officer and assisted by Russian, Nigerian, and an American officer conducted the selection test.

From federal territory police, 12 police officers had appeared in the test. Among them, Shakeel Ahmad Durrani (ASP) and M. Khalid (inspector) passed the test.

From FIA, 11 police officers had appeared in the test while six were declared passed.
