KARACHI, Sept 30: Sindh Excise and Taxation Minister Shabbir Ahmed Qaimkhani on Saturday vowed to make all-out efforts to introduce reforms in his department with greater focus on elimination of the menace of drugs from the province.

In an introductory meeting with journalists prior to a maiden official briefing on the department, Mr Qaimkhani said that he would try to provide maximum relief to people.

Referrig to tax recovery target of Rs8 billion for the current financial year, he said that no stone would be left unturned to achieve the desired results.

He also referred to wide scale public complaints against Motor Vehicle Tax and the rule of agents outside the MVT Wing and said he would spare no effort to provide relief to people.

In order to curb the heinous trade of drugs, the minister directed the officials to seal all entry routes for drugs and instead of catching small traffickers, big crocodiles be netted first, he added.—APP
