Robbers thrash farmer to death

TOBA TEK SINGH, Sept 28: Robbers killed a farmer for putting up resistance near Kamalia on Thursday.

Six robbers tried to take away transformer of the tubewell of Noor Muhammad in Chak 736 GB. Noor and his tenant Nawaz in the meantime overpowered one of them. The robbers attacked and thrashed them as a result of which Noor died on the spot and Nawaz sustained serious injuries.

He was admitted to Kamalia THQ hospital in critical condition.

KILLS MOTHER: A youth killed his mother on a land dispute in Chak 771 GB on Thursday.

Riaz and his younger brother Tahir were exchanging firing over the land dispute. In the meantime, their mother Sakina tried to reconcile them but Riaz shot her dead on the spot.

THIEF HELD: Rajana police arrested red handedly a utility store employee, Muhabbat Khan, while taking away sugar bags from store to his home.

According to police report, 10 bags were recovered from the accused while after his arrest eight more bags were recovered from his house.

TRANSFERRED: The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) chief executive on Thursday transferred city subdivision assistant manager (operations) Sajid Yaqoob Ansari to Samundri on public complaints.

Mian Amjad has been transferred here in his place from Jhang.
