KARACHI, Sept 28: Shipping activity remained active at the port where two ships carrying containers and diesel oil were berthed at QICT and Fotco Oil Terminal during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release here on Thursday.

Berth occupancy was observed on high side at the port where nine ships -- CSAV Ningbo, ACX Tsubaki, CMA CGM Kingston, Tian Yu Feng, Concord, Warbah, Liquid Success, Gas Maluku and Caravos Horizon -- are currently occupying berths to load and offload containers, seeds, edible oil, diesel oil, chemicals, LPG and iron ore.

Cargo handling operation were carried out efficiently on Wednesday, where a cargo volume of 89,041 tons comprising 69,355 tons imports and 19,686 tons exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,187 containers (TEUs) was handled.

Four ships, CSAV Ningbo, ACX Tsubaki, Liquid Success and Tian Yu Feng, sailed out to sea during the report period.

Four ships, Hammurabi, Xiang Wan, Sea Master and Maersk Barry, are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and MPT on Thursday.
