KARACHI, Sept 27: Senior Minister of Sindh for Health and Coordination Syed Sardar Ahmed on Wednesday said that the basic health units in every district should be integrated with rural health centres and taluka health centres to ensure provision of basic facilities to common man.

He stated this while chairing a meeting of EDOs (health) of various districts during which he was briefed on health facilities, shortcomings and problems faced by people and the employees of the health department. The EDOs who attended the meeting hailed from Mirpurkhas, Mithi, Umarkot, Tando Allahyar and Tando Muhammad Khan.

Sardar Ahmed instructed the EDOs to visit health units, rural health centres and taluka hospitals of their respective districts regularly so that requirements of medicines, surgical tools as well as deficiencies of doctors and employees could be made up. He also directed the officials to hold responsibility of patients with great care besides scheduling their duty timings properly.
