KARACHI: Milkman shot dead

KARACHI, Sept 26: A milkman was shot dead while resisting robbery in Lyari late on Monday night.

Police said that Mukhtar Ali was sitting at his milk shop in Baghdadi when unidentified persons on a motorcycle came and attempted to snatch the cash. As Mukhtar tried to resist, they shot at him and fled.

The wounded shopkeeper was taken to the Civil Hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds.

ACCIDENT: A young man died and six others were wounded in a road accident on the Super Highway on Monday.

Police said that the accident occurred between a Karachi-bound passenger coach and a truck near Essa Cement Factory.

Police said that the passenger, who died in the accident, was identified as Rizwan. His body was sent to the Jamshoro hospital.

However the six injured were shifted to Karachi for treatment.
