QUETTA, Sept 24: The establishment has eliminated all politicians and destroyed all institutions who could have played a role to combate moves against national integrity.

Speakers at a condolence reference organised jointly by the Balochistan Union of Journalists and the Quetta Press Club to pay tribute to the slain chief of the Jamhoori Watan Party, Nawab Akbar Bugti.

They warned that Nawab Bugti’s killing had pushed Balochistan politics to lean towards extremism, instead of moderation.

They said that without restoration of true democracy and giving people control over their resources, problems being faced the country could not be solved.

Former chairperson of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, Tahir Mohammad Khan described Nawab Bugti as a ‘true Baloch hero’ who always took decision in public interest and never compromised on his principles. He always gave shelter to people who came under his protection.

He accused the government of launching a military operation to take over the control of the Balochistan’s mineral resources, especially oil and gas.
