KARACHI, Sept 24: City Naib Nazim Nasreen Jalil said that the city government was fully aware of the problems being faced by the residents of Lyari and City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal was paying special attention to solve those problems.

She said this while talking to a delegation comprising naib nazims and councillors of Lyari Town from UC-1 to 11 at her office here on Sunday. The delegation led by Town Naib Nazim Abdul Rahim Baloch apprised her about the problems of Lyari regarding water and sewerage.

Ms Nasreen said that the K-III scheme was aimed at resolving water shortage and meeting the growing water demand of the city. She added that measures to meet future demands were being undertaken including planning for enhanced water supply project K-4.

“No area would complain in future regarding water issue owing to rightful and justified distribution of water,” she said.

The naib nazim also ordered officers concerned of the KWSB to immediately overhaul pumping stations in Lyari and underlined the need of presence of security officials to stop stealing of water.

Ms Jalil was informed that faulty generator of Lea Market Pumping Station would be repaired within seven days. She further directed to ensure presence of kundiman in various UCs of the Lyari Town.—PPI
