Pakistan to head group of 77

UNITED NATIONS, Sept 23: Pakistan has been unanimously elected to head the group of 77 plus China at the 30th annual meeting of the foreign ministers of the G-77 and China held in New York.

The UN secretary-general as well as the participating ministers hailed Pakistan’s election as ‘well-deserved’ and expressed confidence in Pakistan’s ability to effectively pursue, promote and safeguard the interests of the developing world in the UN.
