Two arrested with poppy

GUJRANWALA, Sept 20: Dhulley police claimed on Wednesday to have seized a huge quantity of poppy and arrested two accused during a raid. Reports said DPO Mian Muhammad Asif received information that a large quantity of poppy was being smuggled from tribal area by a truck. He ordered the police to conduct a raid and arrest the accused.

The Dhulley SHO raided a truck parked at Samanabad, recovered about 100 bags of poppy from it and arrested two drug traffickers Amir Zaman Khan and Muhammad Ismail. Their third accomplice — Muhammad Naeem of Garjakh locality managed to escape.

Police have registered a case and are investigating. Meanwhile, the DPO announced cash prize and commendation certificates for the raiding team.
