LAHORE, Sept 19: An all-round performance by captain Urooj Mumtaz not only helped Pakistan women cricket team beat Hong Kong by 172-runs in the second one-day match, but also put Pakistan in the World Cup main round, at the Bagh-i-Jinnah ground on Tuesday.
Urooj struck an exact 155-ball 100 runs with five fours while Sajida Shah, who scored a consecutive half-century slamming an undefeated 72 raising the total to 288-1 in the allotted 50 overs. Sajida hit four fours off 87 balls. Opener Taskeen Qadeer (44, six fours) with captain Urooj gave the home team a start of 102 runs. Urooj and Sajida's second-wicket partnership added 186 runs.
Urooj also excelled with the leather, taking three wickets for only five runs as the visitors were skittled 116 in 37.5 overs. Hong Kong's skipper Neesha Pratt made some good efforts with a knock of 52 off 55 balls, cracking six boundaries.
