SIALKOT, Sept 19: A Hajipura police party raided the house of a citizen, made hostage family members at gunpoint and humiliated women on resistance in Aadha village, Daska, here on Tuesday.

According to reports, the police party, led by SHO inspector Tahir Majeed, raided the house of Waseem Shahzad to arrest an accused, Shafiq, stated to be wanted in several cases, but he was not found at home.

The SHO became infuriated and started beating his family members, including women and children. They even dragged women out of the house, humiliated them and beat them up badly.

Later, the police took these women and their minor children to the police station where they tortured the women.

The police released these women and their children allegedly after extorting money from them.

Waseem Shahzad reported the matter to DPO Zubair Nawaz Chattha and demanded a stern action against the accused police officials.

Villagers, expressing concern over this nasty incident, also demanded registration of a case against the accused policemen.

Meanwhile, the DPO has ordered an inquiry against the accused policemen.
