101 deportees sent to jail

MULTAN, Sept 18: A local judicial magistrate on Monday sent 101 people deported from Oman to jail on judicial remand. FIA passport and immigration cell in Multan had produced them before the court after registering cases against them and sought their physical remand for the purpose of investigation. The court, however, turned down their request and ordered that they be sent to the judicial lock-up.

Most of the deported are young, between 25 to 35 years, and belong to Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Layyah, Multan and Vehari.—APP
