KARACHI, Sept 18: Three ships to load and offload containers and chemicals were allotted berths at QICT and EVT on Sunday, said a PQA press release on Monday.

Meanwhile, two more ships carrying containers and diesel oil also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy dipped to 50 per cent as only five ships, London, MOL Accord, Veracity, Santa Barbara and Chemstar Eagle, were busy in loading and unloading containers, sugar, edible oil and chemicals.

A cargo volume of 53,066 tons comprising 36,916 tons of import and 16,150 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Veracity and Chemstar Eagle left the port while London and MOL Accord were due to depart.
