FAISALABAD, Sept 16: A six-year-old boy, kidnapped for ransom from outside his house in Husania Chowk, People’s Colony No 2 about six days ago, has not yet been recovered.

Ibrahim was playing while he was kidnapped. The kidnappers contacted the family late on Monday night and demanded Rs500,000 ransom.

Despite a hunt launched by the police, no clue has yet been found, police sources said.

Ghulam Mustafa, the father of Ibrahim, owns a small-scale business and not in a position to pay the amount.

Meanwhile, city district nazim Rana Zahid Tauseef directed the police to recover the boy immediately while visiting the family.

A police source said the trend of kidnap for ransom was increasing. As many as 61 children were kidnapped in June, 58 in July and 59 in August.
