SAHIWAL, Sept 16: On the orders of additional district and sessions judge, Farid Town police on Saturday registered a kidnap case after a lapse of about four and a half years.

Reports said Muhammad Ayub of Sahiwal along with his friend Muhammad Amin of Lahore returned to Pakistan from Saudi Arabia.

On April 3, 2002, Amin, Sarfaraz Ahmed and Sher Muhammad allegedly abducted Ayub on the pretext of purchasing a plot in Lahore for the latter.

Later, Ayub’s wife Farzana approached the police for registration of a kidnap case of her husband. On police’s refusal, she filed a writ petition with the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Syed Hamid Husain Shah who ordered registration of a case.

Police have registered the case under Section 364 of the PPC and arrested one of the accused — Sher Muhammad.

Near Iqbalnagar, a front wheel of the vehicle opened and it struck against a tree. As a result of which they were killed while driver Mustafa sustained serious injuries and was admitted to hospital.

Kassowal police have registered a case.
