KARACHI: Drive against honour killing

Published September 13, 2006

KARACHI, Sept 12: The British Council is currently running an awareness campaign on the issue of honour killings in the rural areas of Sindh and Southern Punjab with the help of an advisory committee.

As part of the media campaign an NGO Dastak has prepared a music video. The objective is to reach to a wider audience and spread the message in a simple manner. The British Council is also organising a national conference on the issue of honour killing from Sept 17 to 19.

The three-day moot would be held at a local hotel, says an announcement. It would be organised in collaboration with the committee for the welfare of women prisoners, Human Rights Education Forum and Sindh Police.—APP
