PESHAWAR, Sept 11: Pakistan People’s Party (Shaheed Bhutto) chairperson Ghinwa Bhutto has said that the World War III is being fought between the poor people and the United States and its lackeys ruling under-developed countries of the Middle East and Asia.
Speaking at a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club on Monday, she said that after 9/11 the US had vainly tried to justify its occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq in the name of war on terrorism, but the US had failed to control resistance forces in both the countries. She said the US and its western allies were morally weak and they could not justify the use of brute force in the Middle East.
She said the US administration had tried to pave way for an electoral victory of Abbas Mehmood and Al Fathah in Palestine, but they failed and Hamas emerged as people’s forces in the war-torn Palestine.
She said that after the historic defeat of Israel in Lebanon, US Secretary of States Condoleezza Rice had hinted at drawing a new map of the Middle East, which included division of Iraq and creation of Kurdistan and some ethnic-based states in Lebanon.
She said the US imperialism rested on two pillars— consumer economy and promotion of armament industry. “All sorts of wars do pay to the United States. After 9/11 the US had promoted insecurity, lawlessness and social destruction in the world,” she added.
Ms Bhutto lauded what she called the heroic struggle of the Hezbollah of Lebanon and termed it a new page in the history of the Middle East. She said Iran and Syria had a defence pact and they would jointly resist any invading forces.
The PPP-SB leader said the world needed leaders like Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Hezbollah leader Hasan Nasrullah to resist imperialism and its lackeys.
She said Hezbollah had sabotaged the US-backed ‘Greater Israel Plan’ and become a symbol of resistance in the Middle East.
