KARACHI, Sept 11: There are about 48 primary schools in the town and almost all are running in double shifts, but in majority of the schools the number of students is very disappointing.

According to rules, new admissions can be made within a month, but no last date has been fixed for admissions in these schools. The reason given for the months-long admission campaign is to encourage people to send their children to schools.

The admission process started with the opening of schools after summer vacations on Aug 16, but the number of new comers in different schools till Aug 30 is: one in Girls’ Primary School Lassi Para, six in Gulshan-i-Ittehad Primary School, four in GBPS Rana Ghaus Nagar, 10 in Al-Mustafa Primary School, and five in Govt Boys Primary School, Sector 4/D.
