JHANG, Feb 12: A former member of Jhang district council and losing candidate for the slot of Nazim, Tariq Saqlain Bhojia, was stabbed to death by unidentified people on Monday night outside his house in Chak 446, 25 kilometres from here.

On Tuesday morning, a milkman found his body lying in a pool of blood in a wheat field close to the back door of his house. The crop was damaged in some area around the body, showing signs of struggle. A pair of woman’s shoes was also found from near the body. There were stab wounds in the abdomen and chest.

The body has been removed to the DHQ hospital for autopsy.

Police have registered a case but no arrest has been made so far.
