PESHAWAR, Sept 9: Corps Commander, Peshawar, Lieutenant-General Mohammed Hamid Khan has said that development projects undertaken by Pakistan Army would usher in a socio-economic revolution in Fata.

He was talking to locals at the inauguration ceremony of Mangak-Shorko road at Parachinar in Kurram Agency, said a press release of ISPR here on Saturday.

The Corps Commander said that priority was being accorded to infrastructure and communication development in Pak Army’s uplift strategy as it would not only bring together the people of remote areas but also open up new vistas of development and prosperity, he added.

Lt-Gen Mohammed Hamid Khan said that peace was the most important pre-requisite for the development activities and urged tribesmen to solve their mutual differences and strengthen government hands to stamp out backwardness and poverty from the area. He said that Pakistan Army has launched multifarious uplift schemes aimed at making Fata more accessible, enhance literacy rate and improve healthcare facilities. The tribal areas would witness a revolutionary change and it would be brought at par with developed parts of the country once these projects were completed, he said.—APP
