KARACHI, Feb 12: Federal Education Minister Zobaida Jalal said on Tuesday that the government has raised funds for education promotion by 350 per cent by providing an additional amount of Rs3.57 billion.

Speaking at a function organized by Pakistan Muslim League (QA), women’s wing, she said the amount would be utilized for actual development as it did not include other expenditures like salaries, etc.

Ms Jalal pointed out that 50 per cent of the amount had already been provided to the provinces for undertaking educational development projects.

“The letter of agreements have been signed with the provinces for initiating the projects and the federal government will only monitor the progress of these projects,” she added.—APP
