KARACHI: Factory worker found dead

KARACHI, Sept 8: A young factory worker was killed after being kidnapped by unknown persons, and his body was recovered from in Gujjar Nallah in Liaquatabad on Friday morning.

Police said the trussed body of the youth was found stuffed in a gunny bag, with a single bullet wound in his forehead.

Police said that victim was identified as Anis, 37, resident of Sector 11-E, Orangi Town.

He was last seen on Thursday, when he left his house for work. Police are investigating the case. The body was sent to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem examination.

KILLED: A man killed his wife reportedly over domestic discord in Korangi Industrial Area Friday, police said.

Resident of sector 36-C KIA, Syed Mansoor Ali stabbed his wife Saba, 33, following an altercation over some petty domestic issue, a duty officer of the KIA police station said. The accused used a kitchen knife in the incident.

Deceased was the mother of three, police added. Following the incident, police shifted the body to Jinnah Hospital for postmortem examination.

FIRECRACKERS SEIZED: The Anti-Dacoity and Robbery Cell (ADRC), Karachi seized five trucks loaded with firecrackers from Abdullah Shah Ghazi Goth here on Friday.

According to police, an ADRC team conducted raid at a godown at Abdullah Shah Ghazi Goth in the jurisdictions of Sachal police station and arrested Abdul Qadir and Mohammad Arshad, while the godown owner along with other workers managed to escape.

Police said that the firecrackers and explosive material worth Rs1.5 million was to be supplied to several parts of the city on the occasion of Shab-i-Barat.
