KARACHI, Sept 8: Four ships carrying containers, edible oil and chemicals were berthed at QICT and MPT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release. Meanwhile, another chemicals carrier also arrived at outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy remained at 70pc as nine ships, Thurngia Express, Al-Ishaa, Mega-I, Mar Blue, Cumbria, Bum Ju, Bunga Melati-7, Keefan and Yanaseni were busy in loading and offloading containers, cement, seeds, edible oil, diesel oil and chemicals.

A cargo volume of 72,532 tons comprising 59,680 tons of import and 12,852 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Thurngia Express, Al-Ishaa, Bum Ju, Keefan and Mar Blue left the port while Mega-I and Cumbria were due to depart.
