‘Robber’ killed in encounter

SHEIKHUPURA, Sept 6: A robber was killed while his accomplice arrested after an encounter with police near Jamia Masjid on Jaliawala Road here on Wednesday evening.

According to police, three robbers forced their entry into the house of Akram Chohan and held the family at gunpoint. In the meantime, one of the family members informed the police which besieged the house.

Robbers opened fire on the police which returned the compliments. The encounter left an unidentified robber dead. The police identified the arrested robber as Rashid.

Their third accomplice managed to escape. — APP
