KARACHI: Clifton residents warned

Published September 6, 2006

KARACHI, Sept 5: The Karachi Building Control Authority (KBCA) has warned owners of showrooms, beauty parlours, shops and clinics being run in residential bungalows in Clifton block-4 that their business activities were in violation of building bylaws as currently the commercialization in this Block have not been allowed.

''Neither commercialization is permitted in Clifton block-4 nor such policy is under consideration,'' a KBCA release said on Tuesday.

The KBCA has granted one-year time for the termination of all commercial activities so the owners could easily manage alternative places for business, it said.

Meanwhile, the KBCA said it will soon start demolition action against two-storeyed sealed building on Plot No B-64, Block-1, Clifton.

In this regard letters have been sent to the SSGC, KESC and KWSB for disconnection of utilities so as to avoid any problem during demolition action.—PPI/APP
