DERA GHAZI KHAN, Oct 5: In the wake of tension running between the Bozdars and Jaafars, the tribal area administration is reportedly trying to get the candidate elected unopposed in the by-election at Phugla, Tuman Qaisrani.
The administration is persuading tribal influential people to nominate a unanimous candidate so that he can be elected unopposed, in an effort to averting any ‘unpleasant situation’.
In case of election, the administration will have to provide security cover to voters due to prevailing tension between the Qaisranis and Jaafars.
AGRIVARSITY: The government has allotted 800 acres near the airport and 200 acres near the cement factory for the establishment of parks and an agriculture university, respectively.
This was stated by DGK Agriculture College principal Dr Muhammad Aslam while talking to newsmen here on Wednesday.
He said an agriculture college was set up here in 1999 as a sub-campus of the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. The first batch of BSc students would pass out in 2002, while MSc classes would start in 2003.
He said as many as 200 students were on the college roll, while 128 teachers were associated with the institute.
AFFILIATION: The Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad, assistant regional director, Qaiser Abbas, said on Wednesday that the affiliation of the Muzaffargarh College with the institute had been cancelled.
The AIOU has extended the date of admission to FA, BA and PTC classes till Oct 10.
