KHAIRPUR, Sept 4: Two children suffering from gastroenteritis died in the City hospital on Sunday night. The deceased were identified as Shazia, of Allahdad colony, and Fareed, of Phul Wahan village.

Parents of the deceased children held a demonstration in protest against the indifference of doctors and paramedics.

They said that they had shifted the children to the hospital but doctors and paramedics did not take care of them and they died without proper treatment.

It may be mentioned that about 30 other children suffering from gastroenteritis are admitted to hospitals of the district.

MIRPURKHAS: About five people, one of them a pregnant woman, suffering from gastroenteritis and cerebral malaria died in Kot Ghulam Mohammed taluka in two days.

Gastroenteritis and cerebral malaria have spread in the taluka due to stagnant rainwater and saline water from the LBOD.

According to reports, Mir Mohammed Bhurgari of deh 330 and one-year-old Mumta of the same area died of gastroenteritis.

Abdul Hayee of deh 288, Irfan Ali of deh 255, and pregnant woman Bano Gorchani of Haji Mir Khan Gorchani village of Kot Ghulam Mohammad taluka died of cerebral malaria.

Hundreds of villagers held a demonstration at 10-mile Mori on Monday in protest against not conducting fumigation spray in the taluka and lack of medical facilities at relief camps.

They demanded that the district government should immediately take notice of diseases and ensure fumigation spray into the taluka and provide proper medical facilities to rain-affected people.

STRIKE: A complete strike was observed in Babarloi town on Monday in protest against the killing of a Hindu trader.

Members of the Hindu community and a large number of people held a demonstration on the National Highway.

They blocked the highway by placing the body of Mukesh Kumar.

Police found his body near Lakhi Ghulam Shah town of the Shikarpur district on Sunday evening.
