KARACHI, Sept 1: The City Courts premises wore a deserted look on Friday as legal proceedings remained suspended due to the strike call given by opposition parties to protest the killing of Baloch nationalist leader and former chief minister of Balochistan Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti.
While the legal fraternity boycotted the court proceedings, the court staff could not turn up due to the absence of public transport. Judges and judicial magistrates, however, managed to reach their respective courts using their official vehicles.
Judicial authorities did not bring under-trial prisoners to the City Courts, although UTPs were brought to the Sindh High Court and anti-terrorism courts.
