KARACHI: Fake permits seized

KARACHI, Aug 31: The FIA immigration staff arrested on Thursday a suspect and seized from him 100 blank residence permits. Officials said Assistant Director, FIA Arrival, Mir Mazhar Jabbar, on a tip-off intercepted Babu Rehman, who had reached the Quaid-i-Azam International Airport to board a Jeddah-bound flight No. PK-731. As many as 100 fake residence permits of Saudia Arabaia were found following a thorough search of his briefcase.

During preliminary interrogation, the suspect told the FIA that the permits were prepared in Bara, NWFP. He disclosed that Haji Jan Mohammed had arranged his passport and Saudi visa, and gave him Rs50,000 for taking the documents to Saudi Arabia.

A case has been registered against Babu Rehman and Haji Jan Mohammed.—Staff Reporter
