LAHORE, Aug 30: Principal officer of US Consulate at Lahore Bryan D Hunt called on Punjab health minister Dr Tahir Ali Javed here on Wednesday. The minister briefed him on the provincial government’s health sector reforms programme.
He said 80 per cent budget of the programme was being spent on the provision of latest health care facilities to the population of rural areas.
He said about 600 medical officers, 141 women medical officers and 90 dental surgeons had been recruited to serve in these areas.
The recruitment process of 1,770 nurses and 295 LHVs would be completed soon, and they would be posted at the basic and rural health units, he said.
