OKARA, Aug 30: A large number of people lodged complaints against the alleged police inefficiency and corruption at an open court held on Wednesday at Depalpur by DPO Dr Osman Anwar.

Zulfiqar Ali of Burewala complained that Vehari police ASI Muhammad Nawaz was a big dealer of cattle theft on which Mr Anwar contacted the Vehari DPO and got the ASI transferred to Multan.

After listening to public complaints, Dr Osman Anwar ordered Depalpur Saddar, Basirpur and Haveli Lakkha police SHOs to arrest outlaws and recover the stolen cattle by Sept 5.

MURDERED: Two people were murdered at Depalpur in separate incidents on Tuesday night.

Reports said Miraj Bibi along with her daughter Kalsoom was asleep at her house at 46/D village when Ilyas, Alam Shah and Abbas entered the house and strangled Miraj Bibi over a land dispute.

In another incident, Muhammad Ali, Liaquat, Tufail, Dawood, Javid, Tahir and their accomplices forced their entry into the house of Ishaq at Rajwal village and slaughtered his brother-in-law Khadim, 24, while he was asleep.

Later, the accused abducted Ishaq’s daughter `S’ and took away cash and gold ornaments worth Rs150,000.

Some time back, the accused had murdered Ishaq’s daughter Allah Rakkhi over an agricultural land dispute.

Depalpur police have registered both the cases.

ACID VICTIM: One Aman Yasin threw acid on his wife Khalida Perveen over a family dispute here on Wednesday in Ayub Park locality.

Khalida, mother of six children, was shifted to DHQ hospital in a critical condition. Aman managed to escape.

A-Division police have registered a case.
